Questions for your REALTOR…….
I was talking to someone the other day about seasonal access and mountain property. I realized just because I have grown up in the mountains and understand these terms, not everyone does. After being in the real estate business for 20 years I get questions that seem simple until you try to explain the concepts.
So what is seasonal access? The simple definition is “A property one can access in a vehicle with 4 wheels for part of the year”. This excludes ATV’s, side by side’s, snowmobiles…etc. Seasonal access is dependent on the snow. When if first falls and when it melts. Mountain property in Quartz Creek Properties near Pitkin, Colorado for instance is accessible from about the middle to end of May until about November. This does not mean you cannot go to the property during the winter months, you just can’t access it in a regular vehicle such as a car, or truck. Don’t let the winter months scare you off from your perfect cabin in the woods. Winter is a great time to X-Country ski, snowshoe, or snowmobile into your property and enjoy the peace and quite.
There are so many areas to explore in this beautiful valley. Many have seasonal access, but if you are looking for a place to get away from it all, Gunnison, Pitkin, Lake City and Crested Butte have it waiting for you!
